Who is LeagueUnited.com for?

LeagueUnited.com is specifically built to support competitive team sports organizations. Our value is to three groups that make up these organizations: (1) club, league or team administration, (2) parents, and (3) athletes. The sports supported by LeagueUnited.com are:

What is LeagueUnited.com?

LeagueUnited.com is a web-based hub to manage an organization, unite the members into a community, and enhance an organization and individual's ability to compete.

With LeagueUnited.com, creation and management of sophisticated websites, administration of an organization's activities, and efficient communication with members - coaches, managers, officials, parents, and athletes.

How many users can we have?

As many as you like. There is no fee associated with the number of users within your organization.

Does LeagueUnited.com just provide website hosting?

Website hosting is only one of the features supported by LeagueUnited.com. It also provides an easy-to-use, but powerful, website builder that allows you to self-administer your website.

Do I need to install any software?

No, LeagueUnited.com is completely web-based; so neither you nor your members need to install any software to use the site. This also means that you never need to back up data, store paper documents, or install any updates.

What is the cost of using LeagueUnited.com?

There is no charge when getting started with LeagueUnited.com. You can build your site and use it free of charge for 30 days. No credit card is required to evaluate the product. If after 30 days you decide to continue using LeagueUnited.com there is an annual fee based on your type of organization.

How does the advertising work?

LeagueUnited.com is able to provide a great product at low cost because we are sponsored by companies such as ESPN®, Gatorade®, Nike®, Adidas®, and UnderArmour®. We operate a stringent approval process for all of our sponsors. Our goal is to work with sponsors who provide direct benefit to the athletic community.

What makes LeagueUnited.com different from other services?

We see our customers as three interrelated groups: the organization, the parent, and the athlete. In particular, other sports management systems fail to provide a meaningful community for the athlete. myLeagueUnited.com provides direct benefit to parents and athletes in helping to managing their busy schedules and, for the athlete in particular, provides a connection to the greater athletic community.

How do I accept credit card payments on my LeagueUnited.com site?

Your organization can accept credit cards online either through its own merchant account or through PayPal. Using your own merchant account will save your organization a significant amount of money and will keep you in control of your club's funds.

After your merchant account application has been completed and approved, you will receive an email with your account's "M_ID" and "M_Key". You will need to enter these numbers in the Merchant Account section of the Admin area. Once this has been done, simply check off the box for your merchant account on registrations, online forms and the online store and you're all set.

NOTE: Allow approximately 2 weeks from initial application for your Merchant Account approval

How do I start using LeagueUnited.com?

It's easy to get started. After registering your organization with LeagueUnited.com and providing some basic information about your organization and the sports you service, you will be given administrative access to begin configuring the appearance and content of your site. LeagueUnited.com was designed from the start to be easy to use by anyone regardless of technical ability.

Technical FAQs

What sort of security is provided for my website and users by LeagueUnited.com?

LeagueUnited.com utilizes some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. When you access your organization's site, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption. This ensures that all sensitive organization and member data is safe, secure, and available only to authorized members within your organization.

LeagueUnited.com allows each member within your organization to have a unique user name and password that must be entered each time they log on to view restricted information. LeagueUnited.com issues a session "cookie" only to record encrypted authentication information for the duration of a specific session. The session "cookie" does not include the password of the user. LeagueUnited.com does not use "cookies" to store other confidential user and session information, but instead implements more advanced security methods based on dynamic data and membership priviledges.

In addition, LeagueUnited.com is hosted in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders.

How do I get my web address to work with my new site at LeagueUnited.com?

If you purchased or have an existing domain name (web address) that you would like to use with your LeagueUnited.com website, you'll need to do the following to configure it properly when you're ready to point it to your new site. If you have not yet purchased a domain, you can visit GoDaddy.com and purchase your site.

1. Determine who is currently hosting your domain. Internet domains are usually hosted by a company other than your actual website hosts. The two largest domain hosts are Network Solutions (NetSol.com) and Register.com. GoDaddy.com is also a low cost provider. If you purchased the domain yourself through one of these or other companies this is where you'll need to go to make changes. If you do not know your domain registration information, do the following:

Go to http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/whois/index.jhtml.
Enter the name of your domain in the provided box and press search
Enter the verification code shown on the subsequent form.

The information form that will then be displayed contains information about the domain including the company it's registered with, who it's registered to and the name server addresses that it currently points to (more on this later). If the hosting company isn't listed, it's usually because it's hosted with Network Solutions.

2. Once you know who your domain is registered with, you'll need to know how to access it in order to make changes. If you registered the domain yourself, you will have already specified or been given account logon information such as a user name and password. If someone else set the domain up, you'll need to get in touch with that person in order to obtain this information. The current account contact individual is usually listed on the WhoIs report mentioned above along with their phone number and email address.

3. Once you know the domain hosting company and their logon information, you're ready to make the change to point it to your LeagueUnited.com website. After you log in at the hosting company, you'll need to find the form required to change the DNS or "Name Server" addresses for the domain. At Network Solutions, there is an "Edit DNS" link to the right of the "Domain currently points to:" settings.

The DNS addresses are the locations on the internet where visitors to your domain are sent when they use your address. The DNS servers at these addresses in turn send the visitor to your actual website. The addresses of our DNS servers are as follows:

NS1.ASPWEBHOSTING.COM
NS2.ASPWEBHOSTING.COM

These are the primary and secondary addresses you'll need to fill in and submit on your host's DNS form.

DO NOT "FORWARD" YOUR DOMAIN to your LeagueUnited.com site. This will cause significant performance issues with your site. Your domain's name servers must be changed. If you are having issues doing this, please enter a support ticket, and the LeagueUnited.com staff will give you a hand.

4. Once you make this change, you'll need to inform us at LeagueUnited.com so that we can make the necessary changes on our end as well. Click here to email us about your domain's setup.

Once you made the changes listed above and informed us, it usually takes between 6 and 36 hours for all the name servers on the Internet to be updated. This means that during this period, the domain may or may not work depending on the routing of your request to browse the website. Please be patient while the change takes place. Note: If you currently have email set up through either your domain or former web hosting company, transferring the domain to our servers will disrupt these settings. You'll need to make arrangements with LeagueUnited.com to either re-route your email back to your existing email service or make new arrangements to host your accounts on our servers. Contact our support staff to discuss your options.

Can I import my member database into the website?

Yes, LeagueUnited.com provides a variety of easy to use methods for importing your data.
